Sin nje nje - Zulu traditional
Sinje is a traditional South African folk song sung in Zulu and Xosa (closely related languages). During the years of Apartheid it became popular amongst mothers and daughters who had lost their sons, brothers, fathers and/or husbands.
Sin nje nje nje ngemi thandazo
O mama bagudala babe thandaza
Things are as they are because of prayer,
because of prayer, because of prayer.
Our mothers/women of old used to pray,
used to pray, used to pray.
